2014 Colorado Energy Expo
On June 27th the inaugural Colorado Energy Expo was held in downtown Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. The Expo included 67 exhibitors and 14 speakers, including keynote speakers Ken Salazar, former U.S. Senator and Secretary of the Interior and journalist/author Robert Bryce. Attracting approximately 3,000 people, the event provided an opportunity to learn about the industry’s economic impact, environmental aspects, public policy framework, workforce capacity, present-day operations and systems, as well as the industry’s innovation pipeline and future potential.
“The entire event really exceeded everyone’s expectations including the high level of interaction with the exhibitors and speakers. There was a tremendous turnout by the public for the Expo’s first year which highlights the importance of the topic of energy to the local community.” John Armstrong, Enserca’s CEO, commented. “We had hundreds of people stop by our exhibit who engaged with us about how energy affects all aspects of our daily lives.”
Pleased to be the events title sponsor, Enserca’s exhibit, “A day in the life…” provided an accessible approach to educating adults and kids alike about the role that energy plays in their daily lives. The exhibit included the Energy Delivery Game (“The Edge”) game which is surrounded by five main stations with facts about the diverse energy sources developed in Colorado and elsewhere as well as comparisons, energy content of common items, and consumption rates for various household items. Interactive displays and examples of actual items provided a tactile, hands-on experience for the public.
Enserca would like to thank the Colorado Energy Coalition and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce for their leadership in making this a successful event. In anticipation of the 2015 Colorado Energy Expo, Enserca looks forward to taking a leading role again in supporting this tremendous annual event.
